Kid’s Unlimited (KU) is an after school program for children in grades K through 5. KU is the ONLY developmental motor program and academic enhancement opportunity in the La Habra area designed to meet the individual needs of each student who is experiencing minor difficulties is school, but does not qualify for special education.
HBIC staff is trained to assist in developing educational & physical skill levels of the child experiencing learning and/or minor behavior difficulties. If you are concerned that your child may be an underachiever or slow learner, check for these signs: • Restlessness, irritability • Homework takes too long • Short attention span • Daydreaming • Anxious, clinging • Stuttering • Reverses Letters • Low Self Esteem • Poor in physical activities; uncoordinated • Impulsiveness • Poor handwriting • Moody • Excessive TV watching DO NOT WAIT in hopes that your child will outgrow his/her difficulty. Whatever the cause, there is NO REASON for parents to blame themselves. The sooner help is sought, the more successful the child can be. The Kid’s Unlimited Program includes: • Mandatory parent informational meeting • Each child receives an initial screening with follow-up evaluations • Each child will follow a program to include gross motor ability, fine motor skills, balance, coordination, visual ability, listening skills and social interaction. Two (2) sessions available per year: Session I October through June - After school to 5:00 p.m. Transportation available from La Habra schools to HBIC. Session II July through August - 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No student will be turned away due to lack of funds.
